Vinta Inks Mother of Pearl [Nakar 1934] shimmering fountain pen ink in a 30 mL glass bottle. Vinta Inks Mother of Pearl Nakar 1934 is a dark grey fountain pen ink with silver shimmer.
Mother of Pearl is also known as “nakar” in the Philippines. More fiction than fact, legends have surrounded the largest pearl, 6.38kg, ever discovered. It was said that a diver drowned retrieving the pearl in May 1934 in Palawan, Philippines. It is known as the Pearl of Allah or the Pearl of Lao-Tzu. This beautiful gray and purple ink with silver shimmer is evocative of the Philippines and its nickname as the Pearl of the Orient.
Vinta Inks are obsessively designed and meticulously mixed. Our inks are meant for fountain pen or calligraphy use. We promise that we use the finest ingredients to make the best ink that we can.
Shimmer inks are great fun but require a bit of care. Before filling, shake the bottle ever so gently (with the cap on). Prior to writing, gently rock, roll, or twirl your pen in your hand (see: Iceman, Top Gun, 1986) to mix the particles that may have settled. Exercise good pen hygiene, use the pen often, and you will have a good time. Leave it sitting for too long, and you might have a clogged feed.
